‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Trailer:They are Venom, and they are officially back
Venom has officially returned — Sony Pictures released the first trailer for "Venom: The Last Dance," the concluding chapter of the Spider-Man antagonist's trilogy.
Tom Hardy reprises his role as Eddie Brock, the notorious brain-eating symbiote villain from the Spider-Man comics. "The Last Dance" is being promoted as the trilogy's final installment. The synopsis reveals that Eddie and Venom are fugitives, pursued by enemies from both their worlds. As the situation becomes dire, they face a harrowing choice that will end their partnership.
The trailer showcases Hardy confronting a colossal symbiote alien from Venom's native planet while also evading government agents. It features intense symbiote battles and a sequence where Hardy mounts a supercharged, Venom-enhanced horse. The cast includes "Ted Lasso" actress Juno Temple and "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" star Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Venom's appearance was recently hinted at in the MCU's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" during the post-credits, where the villain experienced Dr. Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) chaotic multiverse spell. This spell brought various Spider-Man adversaries into the primary MCU. At the conclusion of "Venom: Let There Be Carnage," Venom was transported into the MCU and witnessed Tom Holland's Peter Parker on television. However, in "No Way Home," he was sent back to his universe, leaving behind a part of his symbiote.
Sony confirmed "Venom 3" at CinemaCon 2022, following the commercial success of the first two films. The initial "Venom" movie earned $856 million globally, while "Let There Be Carnage" secured $502 million worldwide, even with a pandemic release.
Kelly Marcel, writer of "Venom" and "Let There Be Carnage," debuts as director in the third film of the franchise. She also co-wrote the screenplay with Hardy. Marcel and Hardy are producing the film with Avi Arad, Hutch Parker, Amy Pascal, and Matt Tolmach.
