Kamala Harris of Indian descent has been nominated as the Democrat Vice Presidential candidate.

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden has announced Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate. That means if Joe Biden is elected president, his vice president will be Kamala Harris of Indian descent.

Undoubtedly, this is a landmark decision in American history. Because no woman of Indian descent has been a Vice Presidential candidate before. Earlier, Kamala Harris was the Attorney General of California.

Earlier, only two female vice-presidential candidates were nominated in the United States before Kamala Harris, Sarah Palin, and Geraldine Ferraro. In 2008, Sarah Palin was nominated by the Republican Party and in 1974, Geraldine Ferraro was nominated by the Democrats. Although none of them could be vice president. It remains to be seen what will happen to Kamala Harris.

According to reports, Joe Biden will run for the US presidency on November 3 against incumbent President Donald Trump. On October 6, Senator Kamala Harris will run against Republican candidate Mike Pence as the running mate of the Democrats.

It is noteworthy that no woman has ever won a presidential election in the United States. Even this is the first time a black woman has received a ticket as a vice-presidential candidate.
