"Dear Sir:
We are writing this application on behalf of significant numbers of Bangladeshi colleagues who are working under RASO NES CU BD FSO Operate, Country unit Bangladesh, RASO.
As you might have already concerned about, due to much-talked-about Robi and Airtel mobile operator merger in Bangladesh, a large numbers of job cuts --including FT, FSO and 3rd Party Resources of Ericsson Bangladesh-- already in a process which shall be conducted as quickly as possible as confirmed by concern line managers. Additionally, due to the same reason, the discontinuation of employees started taking place since December 2016.
We, once contributed to make Ericsson Bangladesh Limited (EBL) proud in all the possible ways and spend the majority of our professional lifetime, in some cases greater than 10 years, for the growth of Ericsson. And, the saddest part is --considering the present job market for telecom engineers in Bangladesh-- we are most likely not to get any job at all or atleast in near future. And, we have no idea how we shall possibly take care our family at this point of time.
According to the Labor Law of Bangladesh, we were supposed to be provided voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) under this circumstances; but unfortunately, none from the HR or Line Mangers of Ericsson Bangladesh circulate any message by mentioning a concrete conclusion on this even after they know that all of us have families depending upon us. And, due to the same reason, already a few numbers of legal notices delivered to HR Bangladesh by those who are already been discontinued, while few other legal procedures are already on a process to be delivered.
Furthermore, other telco operators and vendors doing business in Bangladesh; for example: Robi, Banglalink, Huawei, Grameenphone, already make it as their culture to provide VRS to those employees who cannot be continued due to company’s profitability by agreeing Bangladesh Labor Law. But, LM Ericsson Bangladesh Ltd, on the other hand, still remains silent.
In these circumstances, we eagerly need your attention as we need a positive solution because our living hood depends on it for at least up to some extent.
Thanks and regards,
Deprived Ericsson Employee.
LM Ericsson Bangladesh Ltd."
