Today Asus to launch Qualcomm 821-powered Zenfone 3
Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Asus is expected to launch the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 821-powered Zenfone 3 on Wednesday.
The next generation of smartphones from Asus’s stable, which the company calls ‘Z3nvolution’, was first launched in Computex at Taipei this year. The new series consists of three phones -- Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Ultra and Zenfone 3 Deluxe priced at $499 (Ind Rs 33,590 approx),$249 (Rs 16,752 approx) and $479 (Ind Rs 32,217 approx) respectively.
However, there is another variant of the phone that comes with the Snap 820 processor which may be launched in India instead of the 821-powered variant. Other than the processor, the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe features a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display (1920×1080 pixels). The phone It comes with a 6GB RAM on-board and 256GB internal memory. In terms of optics, the Deluxe sports a 23-megapixel rear camera that supports 4K video recording. Like all other new phones, the Deluxe comes with a Type-C USB charger and Quick Charge 3.0 support. The device draws power from a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery.
Coming to the the Zenfone 3, the device comes with a 5.5-inch Super IPS+ display with 1080×1920 pixels. In terms of storage, Asus offers two options -- a 3GB RAM +32GB internal and 4GB RAM+64GB internal memory. In terms of optics, the phone comes with a 16-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front camera. camera and 8MP front camera. It runs an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor and features a fingerprint scanner on the back.
The lower segment Zenfone 3 Ultra features a 6.8-inch display. Under the hood, the phone is powered by Snapdragon 652 processor with 3GB/4GB RAM. It comes in three storage sizes – 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. In terms of optics, the phone comes with the same 23-megapixel rear camera. Along with a fingerprint sensor, the phone comes with a 4,600 mAh non-removable battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0.
The company also said that the event could be watched live in 360-degree mode via its website.
